Day Eight: Proclaim Peace
Isaiah 51:1-53:12
Ephesians 5:1-33
Psalm 69:19-36
Proverbs 24:7
"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, 'Your God reigns!'" (Is. 52:7).
"The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing" (Is. 51:3).
"My salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail" (Is. 51:6)
I spent my easy Wednesday doing errands in the morning leaving time for some afternoon Scripture reading, painting and blogging.
So much of what I read today speaks for itself, I feel like. Particularly the verses I'm highlighting in this post.
"Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God" (Eph. 5:1-2).
I can overthink things. Especially lately as I'm feeling such a burden to do something, to be something, to know something, to say something, to pursue something.
And right now I find myself overthinking as I try to explain what God is saying to me right now...
Proclaim peace
Walk in the way of love
It's simple. Applicable to today. Applicable to tomorrow.
It's certain. For the me who doesn't know what to do with her life. For the future me who is more certain. For the me who may never be fully certain.
Proclaim peace
Walk in the way of love
Jesus is redeeming all.
All the broken, dry, empty ground we see and walk upon will be saturated and fresh with life and beauty. Will be.
In every heart, mind, relationship, and system where waves thrash and confuse and drown there will be peace like an everlasting flowing river. Will be.
Every soul desperate and searching as the wind carries them will be like a tree planted in truth with stretching, deepening roots. Will be.
God reigns.
God loves.
God leads.
Proclaim peace
Walk in the way of love
"I trust You, God. I trust You." because God will.
