Day 67: Faith Moments
Daniel 1:1-2:23
1 Peter 3:8-4:6
Psalm 119:65-80
Proverbs 28:14
Agh, another really solid day of reading.
I love Daniel! I'm excited to be here now.
Today's message about wisdom especially was intriguing to me. Daniel and his friends were given great wisdom and it was a highly practical blessing for them. And the faith it required to know that God answers prayer and gives wisdom was exhibited in a very strong way in this story. These are not just steady slow concepts for them. Faith, wisdom, and prayer are active and necessary.
Right now wisdom is my prayer. I want to be ready to give an answer when someone asks me about the hope I have Jesus Christ. I want to be ready with hope.
Life sometimes has big events that demand our attention, our readiness, our awareness. Life is sometimes dramatic and black and white. But most of the time life is slow and daily. As Christians we are sometimes faced with big faith situations but we are always faced with small baby moments of choosing hope, choosing joy, and choosing faith.
Lately I have felt like life has been handing me more and more small baby moments that are mounting up to be big moments. And I pray for the wisdom and faith it takes. Prayer is key.
And so is community. Daniel is blessed with a strong community of brothers to pray with and seek wisdom with. And that is something I continue to pray for as well, the God would strengthen my community.
