Day 69: The Lamp for my Feet
Daniel 4:1-37
2 Peter 1:1-21
Psalm 119:97-112
Proverbs 28:17-18
"Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path"
It's pretty much impossible for me to hear that and not sing along. "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." As Sunday School as it sounds to my ears it is such a great comfort. Those simple older worship songs that I was raised on are what I go to in moments of pure unplanned worship.
Today the song that was ringing in my heart was "Jesus loves me this I know."
I don't know a lot right now. I'm leaving Portland tomorrow morning and I'm going back to live with my parents and to work as a hostess...I'm going back to a situation that I know in my heart can't be permanent. I'm content where I am but I also know there's so much ahead that I am not able to discern right now. Maybe I will move to a different city, maybe I will find a career, maybe I will meet someone and get married, maybe, maybe, maybe..there's a whole life ahead of me. I don't know what all of those "maybes" will become but I know one thing: Jesus loves me.
No matter where I go, what happens in my life, Jesus will be there. Jesus is the answer no matter how far I may wander from Him as I am so prone to do.
"Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so"
"Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path"
The Bible is grounding, the Word of God is grounding. What a blessing Scripture is. The Bible teaches me the most important central things that will light the way through life with me, with us all.
Jesus loves.
Jesus loves.
