Nahum 1:1-3:19

Revelation 8:1-13

Psalm 136:1-26

Proverbs 30:7-9

How interesting that Nahum's message was for Ninevah as well. It makes me wonder if Nahum or Jonah came first....either way it seems like this was the message Jonah was instructed to bring to Ninevah. And reading the specifics makes me all the more confused by Jonah's character...how does one hear this Word from God and want it to come true? How does one hear this warning and hope that the people don't repent and so invoke God's compassionate character?

I don't know how because it's awful and because how I know that I deserve all the worst prophecies as well. I put all my hope and trust in God's compassionate character because I am no better than Ninevah. We have all fallen short, we have all forgotten to give God the glory and honor He deserves.

Praise God for He is a compassionate God. "His love endures forever." He sent Jesus to save us from the death we deserve. Lord may we praise You as You alone deserve.
