War Room
Joshua 19:1-20:9
Luke 19:28-48
Psalm 88:1-18
Proverbs 13:12-14
I am reminded today of the importance of prayer.
Before I started the Bible Diary I was aware of how important reading the Bible is to my spiritual health and growth and I was aware of how prayer is important to that as well. The Bible Diary was a tangible way for me to practice the former...but maybe I need to spend a year next adding an emphasis on prayer.
I was inspired today by the movie "War Room." I had been meaning to watch it for a while. It was a really good movie! A lot of times I think we get turned off to Christian movies because they can be cheesy or they don't have real actors, etc. But as I started to watch this movie today I said to myself that I watch plenty of other cheesy movies that aren't Christian and leave me wanting....a boyfriend, a career, etc. But with this cheesy movie I am left wanting to pray more. So who cares about the cheese anymore?
Plus, it wasn't too cheesy at all.
Prayer is a powerful weapon we have in all this spiritual warfare going on around us. I love how the movie talked about all the fights and wars we are in with ourselves, our relationships and that we need to stop fighting each other and fight the REAL enemy! We need to pray, ask Jesus to fight for us. And we need to tell Satan to stop messing with us.
Psalm 88:1-2
Lord, You are the God who saves me; day and night I cry out to You
May my prayer come before You; turn Your ear to my cry
